The 2018 Yamaha Fascino will
be launched in the country next month. Yamaha displayed the 2018 iteration of
the Fascino at this year’s Auto Expo in Greater Noida.
The 2018 Yamaha Fascino gets subtle design updates.
The chrome element surrounding the logo on the front apron is slightly bigger,
and the seat comes in premium dual-tone cover. The pillion grab handle is
larger than the current generation scooter. The headlamp cowl design and the
rear-view mirrors seem to be the same as the current scooter.
The 2018 Yamaha Fascino uses the same engine as the
current-gen scooter. The 113 cc SOHC engine with air-cooling makes 7.1 PS at
7,500 rpm, and 8.1 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine works in tandem with an
automatic transmission. The underbone frame rides on telescopic front fork and
a single rear shock-absorber.
The 10-inch steel wheels are shod with tubeless
tyres measuring 90-section both front and rear. For braking, the scooter
employs drum units on both ends. At present, the Fascino costs INR 54,593,
ex-showroom, Delhi. Expect the 2018 version to be more expensive by around INR
1,000. It competes with Hero Maestro Edge, upcoming Honda Activa 5G, TVS
Jupiter and TVS Wego.
