The Ford Focus hatchback was recently spied
undisguised and now we’re getting a better look at the upcoming sedan. The redesigned model has an
evolutionary front fascia with a larger grille and new headlights. The model
also appears to have triangular fog lights and a distinctive lower air intake.
The redesigned model is notably more stylish as it features a rakish
windscreen, pronounced shoulder lines and a sportier greenhouse. Speaking of
the latter, the third quarter windows have been eliminated and this gives the
sedan a more premium appearance.
Out back, the Focus sedan has a longer trunk and
bold new taillights. We can also see a wider third brake light and angular
reflectors. The Focus will be unveiled next month and it is expected to be
offered with an assortment of turbocharged three- and four-cylinder engines. We
can also expect a handful of performance models including an ST with around 275
hp and an RS which could have approximately 400 hp. Rumors
have also suggested plug-in hybrid and electric versions are in the works.
The Focus will be offered in three different body
styles including a sedan, hatchback and wagon. We can also expect an assortment
of different trims ranging from the crossover-inspired Active to the luxury
focused Vignale. The redesigned Focus will go into production in the second
half of 2019 and most North American models will be built in China.
