Jaguar’s design director says he is intrigued by the
idea of a four-door F-Type similar to the recently unveiled new Mercedes-AMG GT
4-door Coupe. During an interview with Australia’s Car Advice during the Geneva
Motor Show, Jaguar’s Ian Callum refused to say whether or not a four-door
F-Type is on the cards, but said such a vehicle could be perfect for the
British brand.
The design of the F-Type has been largely praised
since its launch, and while some probably aren’t too keen on seeing a four-door
variant, Callum said engineering such a vehicle is possible.
Jaguar will probably watch the reception to the
four-door Mercedes-AMG GT closely and see if producing a direct rival could be
the right move. If a four-door F-Type does become a reality, it would be just
the latest bold new car from the firm following the impressive all-electric
I-Pace crossover.
