The Hyundai Tucson have
spotted and about running trials in
public. Visible beneath the camouflage is the Korean
automaker’s latest corporate ‘face’, starring the new honeycomb grille as seen
on the firm’s latest cars such as the Kona B-segment SUV and the upcoming
Veloster three-door coupe. The Tucson’s headlamps appear to be updated units with
LEDs as before, while the headlamp housings may or may not retain the same
shape and detail as the current model’s.
Also camouflaged and set to be revised are the front
bumper and its intakes, possibly with a redesigned bonnet as well. Around the
back, the upcoming Tucson facelift is also set to receive a redesigned rear end
with a different bumper, while the rear reflectors also appear to have been relocated, now higher and just
above the main crease line.
Though the spy images currently are only of the
Tucson’s exterior, we can also expect updates to be furnished on the interior
as well as for the infotainment system. As for powertrain, details have yet to
be confirmed though engines such as the 1.6 litre turbocharged,
direct-injection petrol engine have served since the launch of the
third-generation model and will likely continue service in this facelift.
Diesel engines are all but certain, though the exact
line-up of engines are yet to be confirmed. Transmission options should remain
as before, with a choice of manual and dual-clutch gearboxes for the petrols,
with manual and torque converter automatic choices for the diesels. The
upcoming, facelifted Hyundai Tucson has been tipped to make its official debut
either later this year, or early 2019.
