You know how some car interiors just have a timeless
feel to them? One could argue that the second-generation BMW 6-Series belongs
in that category thanks to its comfortable, yet driver-oriented cockpit.
Of course, the designs for this car’s interior were
probably first drawn up years ahead of its launch in 2003, so it’s not exactly
modern. Luckily, that’s where tuners such as Carlex Design come in. What you’re
staring at is an E64 650i Cabrio that’s had nearly every possible surface
dipped in either leather, Alcantara or a mixture of both.
Red also features, not just on the steering wheel or
the seat belts, but also throughout the cabin as part of the contrast
stitching, as well as on various inserts such as the ones on the center console
or right above the glove box.
Assuming this car doesn’t come with any performance
mods, its 4.8-liter V8 should be putting out 367 PS and 490 Nm of torque. Since this was a heavy vehicle, weighing in at 1,935 kg, zero to 100 km/h takes 5.6 seconds. When the third-gen 6-Series
rolled along, the 650i, which weighed about the same as its predecessor, was
given 449 PS in order to drop a full second from its sprint time.
