Jaguar Land Rover has launched the XE and XF with an
Ingenium petrol engine in India. Prices of the 2018 Jaguar XE and 2018 Jaguar
XF with the new petrol engine start at INR 35.99 lakh* and INR 49.80 lakh*
respectively.
The new Ingenium petrol engine is a 2.0-litre
turbocharged four-cylinder unit. It is available in two versions. The base
version develops 200 PS at 4,500-6,000 rpm and 320 Nm of torque at
1,500-4,000 rpm. The high-end version puts out 250 PS at 5,500 rpm and
365 Nm of torque at 1,500 rpm. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends power to
the rear wheels as standard.
The Jaguar XE Pure petrol is powered by the 200 PS version of the Ingenium engine. The Jaguar XE Portfolio sports the 250 PS version of this engine. As for the Jaguar XF, the new petrol engine
is available in only the Prestige and Portfolio grades, not the entry-level
Pure grade. The Prestige grade uses the 200 PS version, while the
Portfolio grade employs the 250 PS version.
Internationally, the 250 PS 2.0-litre
Ingenium petrol engine is available in the Jaguar F-pace as well. Jaguar Land
Rover may introduce this option in the mid-size SUV in India later this year.
