Volkswagen has silently introduced the VW Vento
Sport in India. The company is yet to reveal the prices of the Sport variant.
The VW Vento Sport is distinguished from the regular
VW Vento with a number of additional styling features. Volkswagen equips it
with carbon-fibre finish ORVMs, chrome ‘Sport’ badge on the front fenders,
glossy black roof foil, 16-inch Portago alloy wheels, black side foils and
glossy black rear spoiler.
Volkswagen hasn’t revealed any more details of the
VW Vento Sport other than the aforementioned styling features. However, the
full LED headlamps with DRLs suggest that it is most likely in the
range-topping Highline Plus grade. This means that its list of equipment should
include electric folding and adjustment functions for the ORVMs, chrome
interior accents, leatherette seat upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel
and gearshift knob, touchscreen infotainment system and a rear parking camera
as well.
The VW Vento Sport’s technical specifications are
still unknown. The regular VW Vento is available with a 1.6L MPI petrol engine
coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission, a 1.2L TSI petrol engine paired with
the 7-speed DSG transmission and a 1.5L TDI diesel engine that sends power to
the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or the 7-speed DSG transmission.
