The India-made 2018 Hyundai Accent (Hyundai Verna) is now available in the Middle East. It had its regional debut in Bahrain this week. The 2018 Hyundai Accent is the fifth generation of Hyundai’s popular sub-compact sedan. The redesigned model measures 4,440 mm in length, 1,720 mm in width and 1,460 mm in height. It has a 2,600 mm and a 150 mm ground clearance.

There are two engine options on offer: 1.4L MPi petrol and 1.6L MPi petrol. The 1.4L engine produces 100 PS and 132 Nm of torque. The 1.6L engine develops 123 PS and 151 Nm of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard in Bahrain, but buyers in other markets may have a cheaper option of a 6-speed manual transmission. The fuel economy is rated at 16.3 km/l in the 1.4L engine model and at 18 km/l in the 1.6L engine model.

Bi-function projector headlamps with LED DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels and electric folding ORVMs with integrated turn signals are the exterior highlights of the 2018 Hyundai Accent. Its interior is available in black (one-tone), gray/black (dual-tone) and beige/black (dual-tone). Engine push-start button, leather steering wheel and gearshift knob, audio system with 5-inch display and rear USB charger are some of the main interior features. On the safety front, dual-front airbags, ABS, ESC and HAC are standard, while rear parking sensors and rearview camera are available.

The 2018 Hyundai Accent is available in Bahrain in E, S, SE and Premium grades. Prices start at BD 4,990.
