The Fastest Two Minutes In Sports‘ event is being
celebrated this year by Ram, with a limited edition of the new generation 1500.
Priced from US$ 53,190 plus US$ 1,645 destination charge and limited to 2,000 units,
the 2019 Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby Edition commemorates the 144th edition of the
famous horse race.
It’s available in Crew Cab, with two- or four-wheel
drive, and a 5-ft and 7-in (1,702 mm) bed length. Customers can order it in the
new Ivory White Tri Coat paint, with the ‘Run for the Roses’ fender graphics,
and it also comes in five other colors called Diamond Black Crystal, Granite
Crystal, Delmonico Red, Max Steel and Patriot Blue.
Key features include the auto-leveling air
suspension, power-retracting running boards, trailer hitch with sway control,
blind spot monitoring with automatic trailer detection and 12-inch Uconnect
infotainment system with Sirius XM 360L and navigation. The 2019 Ram 1500
Kentucky Derby Edition also comes equipped with leather trim, genuine wood and
metal accents, and heating and cooling front and rear seats.
The limited edition truck retains the regular
model’s maximum trailer tow of up to 5,783 kg and payload of up to 1,043 kg. Ram has already started taking orders for the 2019 1500
Kentucky Derby Edition, well ahead of the horse race it’s named after and which
starts on Saturday, May 5.
