McLaren has some exciting things in the works, none
more so than the BP23 ‘hyper-GT’. However, even it will be tame when compared
to this imaginary racer created by artist Ravi Sharma. The car has been created
as a racer that combines a plethora of advanced features which could become the
norm down the road. For example, it incorporates in-wheel electric motors that
come complete with superconducting coils. Additionally, the rear of the car has
a compact reservoir of liquid nitrogen which can cool the superconductors down
to -197 degrees Celsius.
Aerodynamics also play a significant part in this
hypercar. Consequently, the cabin is exceptionally compact and the driver sits
reclined just behind the front wheels. Large air channels at the front of the
racer help to funnel air around the teardrop cabin before directing it through
the rear wheels. Additionally, the car includes active aerodynamics in the rear
diffuser, fenders, and the front and rear intakes.
The Aston Martin Valkyrie is arguably the most
unconventional performance car in the works. However, this McLaren takes things
to entirely new extremes and would be right at home in a Hollywood blockbuster.
While the design seems too ridiculous to ever see
the light of day, in-wheel electric motors could eventually be used by McLaren.
