Perodua has teased an upcoming new variant of its
Bezza sedan, which it is set to debut later this week. The GXtra, as it’s
called, will be a 1.0 litre derivative. No details have emerged, but as its
name suggests, the new variant should contain a higher level of specification
and trim compared to the current base 1.0L Standard G model, which is available
in both manual and automatic transmission forms.
The Bezza, which was launched in July 2016, received
a minor update last year involving cosmetic changes, though all but one
involved the 1.3L Premium X and Advance models, with the 1.0L Standard G also
receiving the deeper rear skirt that better covered the underside of the car
when viewed directly from behind.
While the Premium X and Advance versions received
additional bright trim (and new leather upholstery for the Advance), the
Standard G’s interior remained untouched by the update – it could well be that
the GXtra will add on items.
Presently, the Perodua Bezza 1.0L Standard G comes
equipped with 14-inch alloy wheels, fabric seats, a polyurethane steering
wheel, a standard audio system with a USB port, manual side mirrors, 60:40
split-folding rear seats, reverse sensors, power windows, dual airbags and ABS
with EBD and brake assist.
