Pininfarina has released a few teasers of a new
concept car that will be introduced later this month at the Beijing Motor Show.
The concept, which will be called the H500 is the smaller sibling to the H600
and is another addition to the collaboration between the Mahindra-owned design
house and Hong Kong-based Hybrid Kinetic Group (HKG).
Specific details about the H500’s powertrain haven’t
been revealed yet, but it is said to be a range extender hybrid like the H600.
Other concepts that adopt the same form of propulsion include other
“Pininfarina x HKG models” like the K550 and K750 SUVs, along with the HK GT.
The image shows a four-door model about the size of
a Tesla Model 3, with an emphasis on space for passengers’ heads and legs,
which is a trend that customers in China welcome. Sleek headlamps, a trademark
grille design and relatively clean side profile are just some of the other
visible cues.
Look inside, the wraparound dashboard features a
digital display instrument cluster along with another screen in the centre
console. There’s also appears to be a narrow display that runs across the dash
and down the side of the door cards
The H500 will be just one of two concepts that will
be presented in Beijing, but it’s not clear just what the second model will be.
The company already has two sedan, two SUVs and a sports car, so just what the
other concept will be is anyone’s guess.
