Geely and Volvo’s new electric car brand is
showcasing the Polestar 1 at the Beijing Auto Show this week. Which is all well
and fine. But more to the point, they’ve announced pricing for the hybrid
coupe.
The Polestar 1 will carry a sticker price of US$ 155,000 in the United States.
In Europe, it will sell at par for € 155,000. And in China, it will retail for ¥ 1.45 million. For that sum, buyers will get a sleek hybrid coupe
with 600 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque.
What the pricing doesn’t tell us is how much the
monthly subscription will cost. Those details will be “confirmed at a later
date.” Pre-production testing at the Polestar Production Centre in Chengdu,
China, is slated to commence before the end of the year.
