Heavy duty pickups are largely seen as work vehicles
built for towing but that hasn’t stopped Roush Performance from unveiling a new
tuning program for the Ford F-250.
Simply called the Roush Super Duty F-250, the truck
has been designed to allow drivers to “tow with confidence and turn heads while
doing so.” In order to achieve this, the model has been equipped with an
assortment of new components which were specially selected to maintain the
truck’s best-in-class towing and payload capabilities.
The F-250 has been
outfitted with a new grille which features Roush lettering as well as
integrated accent lights. Moving further back, buyers will find extended fender
flares and a stainless steel DPF-Back exhaust system on models equipped with a
diesel engine.
One of the biggest changes is the addition of a
Roush / FOX 2.0 Performance Series suspension system and leveling kit. It
increases the ride height by approximately 6.3 cm. To help
complete the off-road look, Roush installs 20-inch beadlock wheels with
35.3-inch BFGoodrich KO2 All-Terrain tires.
The interior sees a host of minor revisions as Roush
installs embroidered headrests, WeatherTech floor mats and a serialized badge
on the center console. Customers can also order a lockable console vault and an
off-road utility kit which includes a tow strap, ratchet tie-down straps,
jumper cables and a flashlight.
The package costs US$ 13,880 excluding the price of the
base truck and a US$ 1,000 delivery fee. This means even the most basic version of
the Roush F-250 will cost at least US$ 48,030. On the bright side, the truck comes
with a three year / 36,000 mile (57,936 km) limited warranty.
