The third-gen Suzuki Dzire was
launched in Uruguay in the GL grade last October. Today, Suzuki introduced a
stripped out GA grade, making the sedan more accessible and ideally suited for
commerical use.
The GA grade of the Suzuki Dzire misses out on front
fog lamps, body coloured mirrors and body coloured door handles. It is hoisted
on 14-inch steel wheels instead of the usual 15-inch alloy wheels. The chrome
front grille frame, bumper garnish and tailgate garnish are present, though.
Inside, the twin-pod instrument cluster is absent, which means that there’s no
tachometer. The audio system is the single-din unit.
The base Suzuki Dzire is powered by the same engine
as the Suzuki Dzire GL. The 1.2-litre VVT four-cylinder petrol engine produces
82 hp at 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. A 5-speed manual
transmission sends power to the wheels. The optional 5-speed automated manual
transmission is unavailable in the entry-level grade.
The Suzuki Dzire GA retails at USD 16,990 in
Uruguay. A warranty of 3 years/1,00,000 km is included in the price and an
option to extend it to 4 years/1,20,000 km is available.
