We’ve heard a lot of people criticizing Liberty Walk
for failing to update its offerings sticking to the same flashy but overused
wide-body kits . Apparently, there’s still strong demand for them, as the
Japanese tuner refuses to change its tune.
So, like it or not, the Toyota 86 is their latest
project. The compact sports car can be equipped with two body kits, both of
them including aggressively restyled front and rear bumpers, aprons, the
brand’s trademark bolt-on fenders, and either a boot lid spoiler or a massive
wing at the rear.
Depending on the parts you choose, the kit which is
made from FRP and suits the Subaru BRZ as well, costs between US$ 4,470 and US$ 5,340. Of course, that doesn’t include the new wheels, nor the air suspension,
for which enthusiasts will have to shell out another US$ 7,900. This specific
Toyota 86 demo car has had its exterior adorned with red stripes and decals
that contrast the black body.
You may have notice the roll cage, which makes you
wonder if this car’s 2.0-liter boxer engine has been fiddled in any way. If that’s what your looking for, there are many
tuners out there willing to turbocharge the four-pot mill. And if that’s not
enough, then you can always go for a heart transplant, though if you want to
play it safe, you’re better off waiting for the second-gen Toyota 86 that’s
said to arrive in 2021 with more oomph under its hood.
