This Fiat 500 updates remains the same car beneath the skin as the one introduced back in
2007. Nevertheless, despite being quite old, Fiat and FCA are trying to make it
somewhat competitive by constantly updating the mini and launching new special
and limited edition models.
The latest revision, doesn’t see the
introduction of a new trim, but rather a price increase of US$ 1,500 for the 500
Pop, CarsDirect reveals. This means that it has an MSRP of US$ 17,490, which
includes the US$ 250 higher destination fee, for the 5-speed manual, and US$ 995 more
for the six-speed automatic.
Pricing for the Fiat 500 Lounge is said to start at US$ 20,990, or US$ 1,500 more than last year, but both the Pop and Lounge benefit
from a more powerful turbocharged engine, whose output has gone up to 135 hp,
from 101 hp. Also, they include standard twin intercoolers, sports exhaust
system, sportier suspension, larger wheels, rear spoiler and reversing camera,
among others.
The 2018 Fiat 500c will be US$ 750 more expensive,
whereas the 500 Abarth pocket rocket, with its 160 hp and 247 Nm of
torque from a turbo’d 1.4-liter engine, will start at US$ 21,740. By comparison,
the 2017MY has an MSRP of US$ 19,995, and besides the upgraded engine, the 500
Abarth sports a three-mode ESC, performance suspension and dual exhaust system.
