Mazda has revealed the 2019 CX-3 will be
priced from US$ 20,390. Set to go on sale in the United States later this month,
the 2019 CX-3 is US$ 280 more expensive than its predecessor.
Despite the modest
price increase, the model comes with a number of improvements including
redesigned front seats, a newly standard electronic parking brake and a new
rear armrest with integrated cup holders. The center console and center armrest
have also been redesigned. Besides the interior updates, the 2019 CX-3 has a new grille,
updated taillights and restyled wheels. There’s also higher quality materials
and improved sound insulation.
The entry-level CX-3 Sport comes equipped with
fabric seats and a push-button ignition. Other features include a 7-inch Mazda
Connect infotainment system, a rearview camera and Bluetooth connectivity.
Buyers will also find 16-inch alloy wheels, two USB ports and power windows,
locks and mirrors. There are also a handful of driver assistance systems
including Smart City Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear
Cross-Traffic Alert and a Direct Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
The US$ 1,100 i-ACTIVSENSE Package builds on those
safety features as it adds Advanced Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian
Detection, Smart Brake Support and Mazda Radar Cruise Control with a Stop and
Go function. The package also adds automatic high beam headlights, a lane
departure warning system, rain-sensing wipers and LED lighting units. Other
notable additions include an automatic climate control system and an active
driving display. The CX-3 Touring starts at US$ 22,475 and comes equipped with LED
headlights, heated side mirrors and 18-inch wheels. The model also has
rain-sensing wipers and new piano black pillar accents.
The interior receives some upgrades as well as
drivers will find a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an automatic climate control
system and black leatherette seats. Rounding out the changes is a
leather-wrapped shifter, heated front seats and a front passenger seat with a
manual seat lifter.
The i-ACTIVSENSE Package is available for US$ 1,000 and
the model can also be equipped with the Touring Preferred Equipment Package for US$ 1,410. The latter package adds a glass moonroof, a seven-speaker Bose audio
system, a rear cargo cover and an improved audio system with HD radio and a
four-month subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio.
The US$ 25,745 CX-3 Grand Touring goes even further as
the range-topping model has leather seats, a color head-up display, a power
moonroof and LED lighting units. Other niceties include chrome exterior trim,
GPS navigation and steering wheel mounted paddle shifters.
Buyers looking for even more luxury can order the US$ 710 Grand Touring Premium Package which adds a six-way power driver’s seat
with power adjustable lumbar support and a two-position memory system. The
package also includes an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a heated steering wheel
and a traffic sign recognition system.
Regardless of which model is selected, all US-spec
CX-3’s are equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 148 hp and 197 Nm of torque. It is connected to a
six-speed automatic transmission which can be paired to an optional all-wheel
drive system for an additional US$ 1,400.
