Maruti retails the second generation Dzire as Tour S
for the taxi market and fleet operators. The company could repeat the strategy
with the Maruti Ertiga once the second generation model arrives later this
year. IAB’s rendering imagines what the Maruti Ertiga Tour may look like.
As is the norm with taxi-spec models,
the Ertiga Tour too is devoid of chrome bits on the grille and front bumper. It
misses out on foglamps as well. The door handles and ORVMs are finished in
black and the MPV rides on steel wheels with no covers.
On the inside, expect only basic features like a
manual air con with heater and front power windows. There will be no audio unit
or steering mounted controls on offer. Base variant misses out on second air
conditioning vents as well.
Expect Maruti to offer diesel and petrol+CNG
variants of the Ertiga Tour. Although the second generation model will employ a
new 1.5 L petrol engine, expect the current 1.4 L petrol to continue powering
the taxi-spec Maruti Ertiga Tour.
