For those
looking to take theirs even further of new BMW M2 Competition, the Bavarian automaker has released a
series of M Performance Parts.
The range of accessories promisingly starts with an
even more hardcore suspension package. The coil-over springs lower the ride
height an extra 20 millimeters. It also includes adjustable
dampers and rebound settings to help the most performance-obsessed of drivers
get just what they want out of Munich’s new pocket rocket.
The suspension package also brings new brakes with
six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers painted in red. In conjunction
with a fresh set of 19-inch wheels, they help reduce unsprung weight by an
extra 3.2 kilograms. And those wheels can be fitted with semi-slick
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
There’s a new onboard telemetry system on offer as
well, which networks between a USB stick and a dedicated app. But most of the
rest of the catalog is made up of carbon fiber. The hood, roof, and trunk lid
can all be replaced with carbon versions, and the hood even includes a bigger
power bulge. Of course there’s the requisite aero kit as well, including new
front splitter, side skirts, rear diffusor, rear lip spoiler, and rear wing –
all made of the lightweight woven material.
The grilles, vents, mirror caps,
door sills, and engine cover can also be replaced with more carbon-fiber
components. And the interior can be ordered with a new steering wheel –
complete with integrated Race Display – along with metal pedals and a
smattering of more Alcantara and carbon-fiber trim.
