Citroen C4 SpaceTourer models won’t let you
explore ‘the final frontier’, but they do promise to be better than past
models, and all with a starting price of £ 21,125 (US$ 29,067) in the United
Kingdom. The base Citroen C4
SpaceTourer is the 110 PS PureTech model, paired to a six-speed
manual gearbox.
The most affordable diesel starts from £ 22,160
(US$ 30,491), and depending on the selected grade, the minivan goes all the way up
to £ 29,640 (US$ 40,783) in 150 PS diesel form, equipped with a
six-speed automatic transmission.
Its five-door sibling, the
Citroen Grand C4 SpaceTourer, has a starting price of £ 23,425 (US$ 32,232) in
130 PS PureTech flavor, with a stick shift, whereas the
range-topping model starts at £ 31,340 (US$ 43,122).
Both C4 SpaceTourers are built on the EMP2 platform,
shared with a multitude of vehicles made by PSA, including the Peugeot 5008 and
all-new 508 mid-size sedan. The architecture is the foundation stone of the
original SpaceTourer as well, which can be ordered with up to nine seats.
Features such as Active Safety Brake, Driver
Attention Alert and Speed Sign Recognition and Recommendation are offered with
the new ‘Safety Pack’, which is standard on all Flair versions.
The automaker says that in a month’s time, the C4
SpaceTourer and Grand C4 SpaceTourer will welcome a new BlueHDi 160 PS diesel engine, mated to a new eight-speed automatic gearbox.
