Ford India launched the expanded EcoSport range with
the introduction of the new S and Signature Editions and they come equipped
with powered slide sunroof. The petrol and diesel S versions are priced at Rs.
11,37,300 and 11,89,300 respectively (ex-showroom). The EcoSport S has brought
back the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine and is good enough to develop a maximum
power output of 125 PS and 170 Nm peak torque.
It is mated to an all-new six-speed manual
transmission. The new S variant features exterior modifications such as smoked
HID headlamps with dark inserts, more prominent black treatment to the fog lamp
bezel, blacked out grille, black painted roof and roof rails and sporty 17-inch
alloy wheels.
The EcoSport S also gains orange accents on the
seats and instrument panel for youthful presence. Also making its way is a new
4.2-inch digital information cluster and TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring
System). Other main equipment are SYNC 3 connectivity with eight-inch
touchscreen and six airbags.
The new variant is also retailed with the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel motor producing 100 PS and fuel economy of 23
km/l. The Ford EcoSport Signature Edition, on the other hand, is paired to the
1.5-litre three-cylinder TiVCT petrol engine kicking out 123 PS of power and
fuel efficiency of 17 km/l alongside the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel.
The cosmetic changes present are reworked grille
with chrome surround and diamond cut 17-inch alloys, rear spoiler and roof
rails, black fog-lamp bezel along with all round graphics. The interior also
gains blue accents on seat stitching, centre console and instrument panel. The
variant can be bought as an optional pack on the Titanium variant.
