The FAW Hongta T340 looks pretty
much like just another pickup truck. Its face, however, strongly resembles that
of the fifth-gen, pre-facelift Ford Explorer SUV.
As many as eight different versions of the truck,
priced between 106,800 and 135,800 yuan (US$ 16,760 – US$ 21,310), were launched in
China. All models are powered by a 2.5-liter turbo-diesel unit, good for 129 PS and 320 Nm of torque.
The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual
transmission, which on some, higher-spec models, feeds all four wheels.
According to Autohome, the T340 also has a 210 mm ground
clearance.
Customers can opt for regular or long-wheelbase
versions of the truck, the former measuring 5,330 mm in length,
1,880 mm in width and 1,825 mm (in height, with a 3,095 mm wheelbase. Meanwhile, the LWB measures 5,640 mm in length
and its wheelbase is 3,405 mm long. All models come equipped with
265/65 R17 tires.
As for safety and convenience features, there’s ABS,
rear parking sensors, central locking, a multi-function steering wheel, trip
computer, 6-inch infotainment display, power windows, electrically-adjustable
mirrors and more.
