In designing the new Vantage, Aston Martin eschewed
the styling that has embraced with every model for the last decade or so. But
to showcase the design, it’s only displayed the car in one of two colors: a
dark shade of grey called Tungsten Silver, or a bright shade of yellow called
Lime Essence.
Fortunately those aren’t the only colors in which
it’ll be offered. Customers will be able to choose between no fewer than 30
different exterior paint options. Add to those nearly as many graphics packages
and a smattering of other exterior trim options. The possibilities may not
quite be endless. But they are rather extensive.
Here we have just two of those cosmetic
configurations. Released to coincide with the first press drives in Portugal,
the new Vantage is pictured here in black and in white. And we dare say the new
sports car looks even better in those shades than it does in the tungsten and
lime in which we’ve seen it to date.
That retina-searing shade isn’t entirely gone.
For better or worse, the neon hue still adorns the front splitters and rear
diffusers on both cars pictured. And for our part, we’re not sure we’d go that
route. But the manufacturer is clearly betting big on associating that color
with this model. it’s even wrapped the racing version in the same.
What’s more is that the black car features more of
that eye-catching shade inside. Not only in the contrasting top-stitching on
the leather, but in large swaths of interior trim. The white car, though, is relatively
more tastefully appointed inside, with blue stitching and carbon-fiber trim.
They just go to show, though, the extensive range of
options that a high-end automaker like Aston Martin can offer on such
low-production machinery. As well it should, considering the six figures it
charges for each of these new vehicles.
