Hyundai has implemented a few mid-year updates to
the Sonata range, claiming that, on most models, the new features lower or
maintain the current prices. Differentiated by the addition of the ‘+’ symbol,
the most affordable model is the Sonata SEL+ that starts from US$ 23,700.
Thanks to the introduction of the sport mesh grille
and front end, along with wireless phone charging capability, a heated steering
wheel, dual-zone climate control and others, this grade has an added value of more
than US$ 500, according to Hyundai.
The same is claimed about the Sport+, which can be
ordered from US$ 24,800, or US$ 25,400 with the Tech Package. This version benefits
from extra driving assistance equipment such as Automatic Emergency Braking,
Lane Keeping Assist and Smart Cruise Control with stop/start function.
Next in the lineup comes the Sonata Limited with
Tech Package, priced from US$ 27,400. It adds all of the aforementioned features
of the lesser grades, which represents a value of more than $1,000 compared to
the current trim level.
As for the Sonata Limited with Ultimate Package+, it
can be had from US$ 26,433, or US$ 600 less than before, and adds the same exterior
updates mentioned above plus a panoramic sunroof. These models are powered by
the 2.4-liter four-cylinder GDI engine, whereas the top-of-the-line Sonata
Limited+ uses the turbocharged 2.0-liter unit and starts from US$ 31,900.
