Vintage Electric has wrought another machine built
to get dirty. Intended as an homage to an era of greasy, motorheaded mania, the
Scrambler S is a dirty delinquent with the cleanliness of electric power.
Built to ride through rugged terrain, the Scrambler
S has a durable and generous suspension fork. Dual sport valving makes the
roughest roads smooth. With five speed options, the rider can change gears to
accommodate any road – steep or sheer, asphalt or…otherwise. It can stop on a
dime; regenerative hydraulic disc brakes will grind the Scrambler to a halt
whatever the topographic situation.
An 1123 watt-hour lithium battery is among
the beefiest on the e-bike market, lasting for 75 miles on one charge. A top
speed of 36 mph makes this electric bike a scaled-down, but still scintillating
tribute to the rugged rides it references with its blacked-out livery and
single sepia-toned LED headlight. The clean-energy but still nasty Scrambler S
is a glimpse of the future, dressed as an outlaw’s antique.
