Usually, when we see bikes out of places like South
Africa, they tend to be a little more rugged and unrefined. It’s not that they
aren’t well-built – just that the motorcycles are often purpose-built for less-than-ideal
terrain. This custom BMW R80/7 bobber from Cytech, however, sits on the
opposite side of the spectrum almost entirely.
Built for a pair of former customers who had
previously ordered a Martini-inspired Beamer, this bike was created to highlight
a very specific indulgence: Cohiba cigars. Not only can this be seen in the
tank icon and paint job, but there’s a specially designed cigar holder on the
leather tank wrapping, perfect for a pair of cigars (as well as a cutter and
lighter).
On top of that, other improvements include a complete rebuild of the
800cc engine and gearbox, the forks were lowered, new bobbed fenders were
attached, and more. While its place of origin is nearly half a world away, we
believe this gorgeous bike wouldn’t look out of place cruising the streets of
Havana – where Cohiba calls home.
