According to a new report from Headlightmag, this
model will hit the Thai market on 10 July 2018. The new Ford Everest features a
refreshed exterior, although the design changes are very minor. Its front
fascia comprises a new upper grille with three individually placed horizontal
chrome louvers and a frame for the lower air intake. Moving to the sides, Ford
has equipped the SUV with new 20-inch split-spoke alloy wheels.
Interior wise, Ford says that it has introduced new colours and materials and soft-touch
surfaces. The new model will offer more convenience, thanks to the addition of
passive keyless entry, engine start-stop button, and a hands-free power
tailgate. A Pre-Collision Assist system that makes use of Autonomous Emergency
Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection will improve safety. Ford has said that
AEB will come with Vehicle Detection as well, but the report doesn’t mention it
for the Thai market.
Ford Everest buyers in Thailand will have a new
engine option with the mid-cycle refresh - 2.0-litre TDCi Bi-Turbo diesel. The
new twin-turbo engine from the EcoBlue family produces 213 PS at 3,750 rpm and
500 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. Ford will offer it with a new 10-speed automatic
transmission.
The existing 2.2- and 3.2-litre TDCi diesel engines
will be carried over. The 3.2-litre TDCi diesel engine is expected to remain
unchanged. The 2.2-litre TDCi diesel engine’s maximum power and maximum torque
may go down by 10 PS and 10 Nm respectively to 150 PS and 375 Nm.
