Hyundai announced a series of revisions for the 2019
Ioniq range, which consists of the Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and Electric
versions.
The 2019MY Hyundai Ioniq adds new safety systems,
including Driver Attention Alert and High Beam Assist. SEL models get Automatic
Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Smart Cruise Control while Plug-in
Hybrid and Electric versions now feature remote charge management as standard.
Hyundai has also equipped the 2019 Ioniq range with
an enhanced, natural-language, server-based voice control system that features
a POI-search database provided by HERE.
Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid models continue using the
same 103 hp 1.6-litre petrol unit, with the former combining it with a 43 hp
electric motor and a 1.56 kWh battery pack, while the latter gets a more
powerful 60 hp electric motor and a larger 8.9 kWh battery pack. Both models are
fitted with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid returns an estimated
all-electric range of 29 miles (46 km), 119 MPGe in EV mode and 52mpg in hybrid
mode. As for the Hyundai Ioniq Electric, it’s powered by a 118 hp electric motor
and a 28 kWh battery pack. Total driving range is an estimated 124 miles (200
km).
Also, 2019 models equipped with Blue Link get
complimentary three-year services, offering enhanced levels of connectivity
with technologies such as Remote Start with Climate Control, Destination Search
by Voice, Remote Door Lock/Unlock, Car Finder, Enhanced Roadside Assistance,
and Stolen Vehicle Recovery.
