This one-of-a-kind Mini Countryman features an electric keyboard in
the trunk, emblazoned in a multicolored pattern that’s repeated on the
contrasting roof and door mirrors. The bodywork is otherwise blue, with black
alloys and wheel arches.
The special crossover is born out of Mini’s
collaboration with Sing For Hope, an initiative that places 51 pianos, each
individually designed by local artists, around New York City for everyone to
enjoy. They’re already deployed and will be on site until June 24 across all
five boroughs.
Musicians can find them at Carl Schurz Park, Jacob Schiff Playground,
and Tompkins Square Park in Manhattan; the Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 6, and
Coney Island Boardwalk in Brooklyn); the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum in the
Bronx; Flushing Town Hall, Rockaway Park, and Unisphere Flushing Meadows in
Queens; and the Greenbelt Nature Center and Midland Beach on Staten Island (to
name just a few of the locations).
There’ll be even more dispatched to schools
throughout the city. And there was a special launch event held on Monday at 28
Liberty Plaza, featuring performances by Lucky Chops, Sarah Dash, Daphne
Rubin-Vega, and the cast of Wicked.
