Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the updated 2018 Honda Activa 125 in India at a starting price of INR 59,621 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2018 model receives new features, cosmetic updates, and new colours.

The 2018 Honda Activa 125 now commands a premium of around INR 2,000 over the previous model. New features include an LED headlight, four-in-one ignition with seat opener switch, a new semi-digital instrument console, and a separate switch to open the seat. The instrument cluster now comes with an Eco Speed indicator and service due indicator. The Grazia was the first Honda scooter to receive these features.

Cosmetic updates include new grey alloy wheels and a chrome muffler cover. However, the latter is available only on the top-spec DLX disc brake variant. The updated Activa 125 gets two new matte paint schemes that include ‘matte crust metallic’ and ‘matte selene silver metallic.’ Like the previous model, the scooter continues to get an under-seat Smartphone charger as an optional extra.

Telescopic front forks are carried over on the 2018 Honda Activa 125 with the rear getting a new 3-step adjustable mono-shock. Drum brakes are standard at both the ends with an optional front disc brake on the top variant. Combined braking system (CBS) is standard fitment on the new Activa 125. The scooter continues to use metal body panels.

The vehicle sports the same 124.9 cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine that develops 8 bhp of maximum power and 10.54 Nm of peak torque, mated to an automatic transmission. The Activa 125 has been facing steep competition from the Suzuki Access 125, and with the arrival of the TVS Ntorq 125, an update was imminent. Other rivals to the Activa 125 are the Aprilia SR 125, Vespa VX and the upcoming Suzuki Burgman Street.
