The Alfa Romeo Giulia is entering its third model
year in the United States and the company is introducing a handful of updates
for 2019. Since the car is still relatively new, this year’s changes are minor
and include newly standard 19-inch aluminum wheels on the Giulia Ti Sport. The
high-performance Giulia Quadrifoglio goes a bit further as it now comes
equipped with split-folding rear seats and anodized brake calipers featuring a
red Alfa Romeo script.
Those changes are hardly worth mentioning but the
model will also be offered with a handful of new packages. First up is the Nero
Edizione package which adds dark miron accents to the grille, mirror caps and
badges on the Giulia and Giulia Ti. The package also includes dark headlight
bezels, black window trim and dark aluminum wheels which are contrasted by
black, red or yellow brake calipers.
The Nero Edizione package is also available on the
Giulia Sport, Ti Sport and Quadrifoglio. There are subtle differences between
the models, but they all have dark miron accents and dark five-hole aluminum
wheels.
Buyers looking for a sportier appearance can opt for
the Ti Sport Carbon package on the Giulia Ti Sport. It includes a carbon fiber
grille insert, carbon fiber mirror caps and carbon fiber side skirts. The model
also has dark headlight bezels, exhaust tips and 19-inch aluminum wheels.
The carbon fiber theme continues
in the cabin as drivers will find carbon trim and illuminated door sill plates
with carbon fiber surrounds. The package also includes a leather-wrapped
dashboard and accent stitching. A carbon fiber exterior package is new to the Giulia Quadrifoglio and
it includes a carbon fiber grille insert, carbon fiber mirror caps and dark
miron badging.
Aside from the new packages, the 2019 Giulia lineup
will be offered with several new options including heated rear seats and a
premium alarm system. Other options include new wheels, a revised color palette
and an Ice-on-Ice interior.
Engine options carry over, so the Giulia and Giulia
Ti have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 280 hp and 415 Nm of torque. The Giulia Quadrifoglio, on the other
hand, has a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 with 505 hp and 600 Nm of torque. This engine enables the latter model to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 3.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 307 km/h.
