Due out in 2019, the G06 X6 can be seen here in prototype form, near BMW’s Spartanburg plant in South Carolina. This prototype seems to be wearing an M Sport package, judging by its front bumper design and blue ‘M’ multi-piston front calipers. It also features silver mirror caps and four exhaust tips.

The front end clearly resembles the one on the all-new G05 X5. The headlights seem identical between the two models, although the front grille might be ever so slightly smaller here. We can even see where BMW fitted the Driving Assistant sensors. Move further down its body and the differences between the two will undoubtedly jump out at you. Overall, the all-new X6 strongly reminds us of the latest X4 on a larger scale.

As for the rear end, expect the current X6′ taillights to be ditched in favor of slender units. The graphics alone won’t resemble the X4’s rear optics, nor the X5’s for that matter. In fact, that curved LED strip seems like something taken from the 8-Series Coupe. The 2018 BMW X5 is one impressive machine when it comes to technology. From its Laserlight headlights to its Integral Active Steering tech, all-new Head-Up Display or Ambient Air Package, there’s no shortage of cool things to command while on-board.

The third-gen X6 should pretty much mirror the X5 in this department, which means we can also expect it to come with the BMW Live Cockpit Professional as standard (two 12.3 inch displays), wireless charging, a cooled and heated cup holder, ambient lighting and a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond 3D surround sound system.

BMW could offer the all-new X6 with a rear-wheel drive setup in sDrive40i guise, which should definitely please driving enthusiasts. Everyone else however can always choose between all the other all-wheel drive models, such as the xDrive40i or the M50i which is said to be using the 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 from the M850i xDrive.

Seen as how this prototype is rocking four exhaust pipes, we could very well be looking at the M50i, which in turn means 530 PS and 750 Nm of torque. That puts it nearly on par with the current X6 M. BMW is expected to unveil the all-new G06 X6 next year, as an alternative to the Mercedes GLE Coupe, Audi Q8 and Porsche’s upcoming Cayenne Coupe.
