After announcing a partnership with the Mission:
Impossible franchise last month, BMW has now launched two special edition
models of the M5 and the regular 5-Series, in the Land of the Rising Sun. Called the BMW M5 Edition
Mission: Impossible, the high performance saloon benefits from as much power as
the new M5 Competition. Thus, the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine delivers 625 PS and takes only 3.3sec to sprint from naught to 100 km/h.
Dressed in Singapore Grey, just like the car
featured in the new ‘Mission: Impossible Fallout’ movie, this BMW M5 features a
blacked out kidney grille and side mirror caps, and sits on 20-inch alloy
wheels. Emphasizing its special stance is a ‘Mission: Impossible’ sticker added
to the B pillar, whereas the interior is adorned with piano trim and Merino
leather.
BMW says the new M5 Edition Mission: Impossible is
available in both left- and right-hand drive specifications. Pricing starts
from 19,640,000 yen (US$ 177,587) in Japan, and doesn’t include tax, insurance fee
and other expenses.
Joining the special M5 is the new BMW 5-Series
Edition Mission: Impossible. It’s based on the M Sport model, offered in
right-hand drive, and sports a Black Sapphire look, M Performance kidney
grille, ‘Mission: Impossible’ sticker on the B pillar and 19-inch alloy wheels. It also gets Dakota leather
inside with BMW Individual touches, alongside the adaptive suspension of the
540i.
The 5-Series can be ordered in both sedan and
Touring body styles, and customers have to choose between the 523i, 523d and
530i models. Pricing ranges between 7,950,000 yen (US$ 71,885) and 8,830,000 yen
(US$ 79,842).
