MSIL will launch the new 2018 Maruti Ertiga in the second half of this calendar year. Believed to completely replace the first-generation Ertiga, which has been on sale since April 2012, GaadiWaadi reports that the outgoing model will get retained as Maruti Ertiga Tour for the commercial segment.

Maruti has used this strategy with the previous two generation of the Dzire as well. The Ertiga Tour will essentially be a stripped down version or the entry-level LXi/LDi grades. It will miss out on chrome finish for the grille and chrome embellishments around the fog lamps. The chrome garnish just above the license plate recess will get deleted as well. Like the base LXi/Lxi(O) and LDi/LDi(O) grades, the Maruti Ertiga Tour will ride on steel wheel without wheel covers.

The cabin of the Ertiga Tour will be no-frills with features like manual air conditioning, a 12V socket and front power windows. That said, power windows could be given a miss as the base trims do not have them currently.

The current 1.4 L K14B petrol and 1.3 L DDiS 200 diesel powertrains are likely to be carried over. The former will also be available with a CNG option. Both engines pair with a 5-speed manual transmission. The base Ertiga LXi petrol is priced at INR 6.34 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) while the LXi(O) grade with dual front airbags and ABS costs INR 6.73 lakhs  (ex-showroom Delhi). The Ertiga diesel is priced from INR 8.68 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The CNG variant is available only in the VXi grade priced at INR 8.27 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
