The new Hyundai
Santa Fe will go on sale in the UK on September 1, offered with a single diesel
engine option and priced from £ 33,425. The new generation Hyundai Santa Fe
borrows some styling cues from the smaller Kona and offers new equipment and
safety features, while the interior has been redesigned to create more space
for occupants and is built with soft-touch materials throughout.
UK customers will
be offered the new Hyundai Santa Fe with the company’s 2.2-liter CRDi ‘R’
diesel engine which now features both selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and
NOx trap (LNT) in addition to the DPF particulate system. Power output remains
as is, at 200 PS and 440 Nm of torque.
The new Hyundai
Santa Fe will be offered in front- and all-wheel drive versions, and with
either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. CO2
emissions are rated from as little as 150g/km.
All-wheel drive
models feature Hyundai’s HTRAC system, which offers the driver manual control
over torque distribution with three modes: Sport, Comfort and Eco. There’s also
a ‘4WD Lock’ option that locks the torque delivery at 50/50 between axles and
up to speeds of 30 km/h.
The new Hyundai
Santa Fe comes with a long list of equipment fitted as standard; features like
seven seats, rear view camera, privacy glass, dual zone climate control, heated
front seats, drivers’ seat height adjustment, leather steering wheel, automatic
windscreen wipers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, Lane Keep
Assist (LKA), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Smart High Beam Assist and
more are standard even on the entry-level model.
Models fitted with
the eight-speed automatic transmission also get Smart Cruise Control and
electric parking brake. The top-of-the-range Premium SE models come with
19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and a head-up
display among other features.
