The Toyota Land
Cruiser is one of the best SUVs in its segment. It has a conservative look,
good levels of equipment, lots of space inside and the ability to challenge
some pretty steep slopes. Naturally, one would expect most tuned examples to
benefit from enhanced off-road capabilities. However, Wald International’s
latest bundle of upgrades won’t exactly make it easy for your Land Cruiser to
venture into the unknown.
The Japanese tuner
is offering two distinct body kits. The first one is called ‘Standard’ and adds
enhanced front and rear bumpers with aprons for an aggressive new look, plus a
tailgate-mounted spoiler, LED DRLs and an LED brake light.
Wald’s second body
kit is a bit more extreme, and aside from the aforementioned upgrades, it adds
wide fender arches with LED guiding lights. Both versions of the SUV have been
equipped with new wheels, 10×22-inch in size in the case of the former, and
10.5×22-inch in size for the latter. The ‘Wide Body Program’, as Wald
International refers to it, can also sit on a pair of 10.5×24-inch rims.
Meanwhile, other
upgrades include new brakes with 405×34 8-pot calipers cross drilled, as well
as stainless steel brake lines. Finally, Wald have also replaced the SUV’s stock
exhaust system with an aftermarket one made from stainless steel, with dual
tipped side exit pipes. It doesn’t just look special, but sounds special too.
