CarToq reports that the 2018 Maruti Ciaz (facelift)
will continue to offer four trim levels, just like the current model. The
variants are Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha in increasing order of price.
However, Maruti has reportedly made changes to the equipment levels of each
trim which are listed below.
- 2018 Maruti Ciaz Sigma: ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill Start Assist, infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity.
- 2018 Maruti Ciaz Delta: Features of Sigma + 15-inch alloy wheels, cruise control
- 2018 Maruti Ciaz Zeta: Features of Delta + LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED foglamps with chrome garnish
- 2018 Maruti Ciaz Alpha: Features of Zeta + diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels
Maruti has sent out media invites for experiencing
the new Ciaz later this month. This further confirms that an August 20 launch
is very much on the cards and several NEXA dealers have started accepting
bookings (unofficially) for a deposit of INR 21,000.
At launch, the 2018 Ciaz will reportedly come only
with a petrol engine. The engine in question is the 1.5-liter VVT K15B
four-cylinder unit which is new to India, but already powers the 2018 (Maruti)
Ertiga in Indonesia and the new Suzuki Jimny Sierra. On the Ciaz, the engine
will reportedly deliver 103 bhp and 138 Nm of torque and will come paired to a
5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The former delivers 21.56 km/l,
and the petrol automatic is good for 20.28 km/l, mileage reportedly, making the
2018 Ciaz petrol the most fuel efficient petrol sedan.
When launched, the 2018 Ciaz will compete with the
Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Toyota Yaris, Skoda Rapid and VW Vento.
