Mercedes-AMG has released the official pricing details of the new GT
4-Door Coupe. Available to order from authorized AMG dealers in Germany and other
European countries, it’s offered in two flavors, called GT 63 4Matic+ and GT 63
S 4Matic+.
The former has a € 150,119 (US$ 175,828) starting price
in its homeland, and can sprint from naught to 100 km/h in 3.4 sec and
up to 310 km/h. It’s powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, which
delivers 585 PS and 800 Nm of torque to both axles
through a dual-clutch nine-speed automatic gearbox.
Standard equipment on the sports executive saloon
includes the active rear axle steering, electronically controlled rear axle
locking differential and active aerodynamics. It also comes with a dual-screen
layout, Nappa leather-wrapped sport seats, Burmester premium sound system,
ambient lighting with up to 64 colors, and a few other gizmos.
As for the GT 63 S 4Matic+, it starts from € 167,017
(US$ 195,620) in Germany. Paying the premium means benefiting from 639 PS and 900 Nm of torque produced by the same V8, which allows it
to reach 100 km/h in 3.2 sec and hit a top speed of 315 km/h.
Compared to the lesser model, the ‘S’ adds active
engine mounts, larger light-alloy wheels and the AMG Performance steering wheel
wrapped in Dinamica microfiber. Celebrating the launch of the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is the Edition 1.
It will be offered for only 12 months and emphasizes the sporty aspects of the
exterior, with a larger front splitter, integral flics in the front apron,
updated diffuser, fixed rear spoiler, special decals, 21-inch rims and
paintwork in Designo Graphite Grey Magno, Diamond White Bright or Graphite Grey
metallic.
Inside, the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe Edition 1
adds AMG Performance seats in Exclusive Nappa leather with a magma grey/black
look, with yellow contrast top stitching, AMG matte carbon fiber trim, AMG
Performance steering wheel in Dinamica microfiber with yellow stitching, and
other highlights.
The Edition 1 is only available with the more
powerful version and starts from € 185,343 (US$ 217,085). All prices include tax and are
for the German market, where the executive four-door coupe will arrive in
dealerships in late fall.
