Along with launching the 2018 Aprilia SR 150
(facelift), Piaggio India has announced the 2018 Aprilia SR 150 Race and
Aprilia SR 150 Carbon editions. The updated Race edition costs INR 80,211*,
which is roughly Rs 3,500 higher than before. The Carbon version costs Rs
73,500*.
Said to draw inspiration from the company's RS-GP
superbike, the 2018 Aprilia SR 150 features a white base paint with red and
green body graphics. The all-analogue instrument console has been replaced with
a semi-digital unit that comprises an analogue speedo and a digital display for
the fuel gauge, trip meter, and odometer.
The Aprilia SR 150 Carbon Edition is based on the
prototype that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. It sports a faux carbon
fibre paint finish along with a new set of graphics. Powering the SR 150 Carbon and
the 2018 SR 150 Race is a 154cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that
produces a maximum power of 10. PS at 6,750 rpm and a peak torque of
10.9 Nm at 5,000 rpm. Both the moto-scooters ride on 14-inch wheels with a 220
mm disc brake on the front wheel and a 140 mm drum at the rear. The updated SR
150 range receives a pre-load-adjustable monoshock at the back. The telescopic
suspension remains unchanged.
Both the moto-scooters are available with smartphone
connectivity features that include GPS information, Panic Alert system, and the
ability to locate nearby authorised service centres. The Panic Alert system
enables the user to send his or her current location to a registered mobile
number in case of a mishap. The new scooters also offer a 'find-me' feature,
which helps the users to locate their vehicles in a dark alley.
