Piaggio India has just launched the facelifted
Aprilia SR 150 moto-scooter. The new model comes with mobile connectivity technology,
adjustable suspension, and new colour options. It is priced at INR 70,031
(ex-showroom, Pune), a hike of approximately INR 2,500.
The 2018 Aprilia SR 150 features a digital-analogue
instrument console that takes the place of the all-analogue instrumentation of
the outgoing version. In a format typical of many performance-oriented
two-wheelers, the SR 150 gets an analogue speedo, while the fuel gauge,
odometer, and trip meter are digital displays. The moto-scooter also gets a USB
charger under the seat. While the SR 150 continues with the 120/70 R14-spec
tires, the ones on the facelift get a new tread pattern.
Powering the 2018 Aprilia SR150 is a 154cc,
air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that outputs 10 PS at 6,750 rpm
and a peak torque of 10.9 Nm at 5,000 rpm. It gets a 220 mm disc brake up front
and a 140 mm drum at the rear. The moto-scooter receives telescopic forks up
front and a new, pre-load-adjustable monoshock at the back. It has a fuel tank
capacity of 6.5 litres.
The mobile connectivity features available on the
refreshed scooter include GPS information, emergency contact details and the
ability to locate nearby service centres. Another highlight of the connectivity
solution is a panic alert feature, which allows the user to send the current
location to registered contacts in case of an emergency. Moreover, the user can
also locate the two-wheeler through the ‘find-me feature’.
