Ducati will launch the new 959 Panigale Corse
edition in India very soon, reports Autocar India. The new variant of the
Ducati 959 Panigale will reportedly arrive with a price tag of approximately
INR 16 lakh (ex-showroom, India), which is about INR 1.5 lakh more than the
standard model. The booking amount for the motorcycle is INR 2 lakh.
Apart from the new livery, which is inspired by
Ducati’s MotoGP machine, the 959 Panigale Corse will also come equipped with
Ohlins suspension and Ducati Performance silencers in titanium by Akrapovic. At
the front is a multi-adjustable titanium-nitride treated NIX30 fork with a
diameter of 43 mm, while at the rear is a multi-adjustable TTX36 shock
absorber. Apart from the Ohlins sourced suspension, the Panigale 959 Corse also
gets an adjustable steering damper from the Swedish brand.
The engine specifications, however, remain unchanged
and the 959 Panigale Corse continues to use the same 955 cc L-twin cylinder,
four valve per cylinder, Desmodromic, liquid cooled, EURO 4 compliant engine
which delivers 150 hp of power at 10,500 rpm and 102 Nm of peak torque at 9,000
rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission that features Ducati Quick
Shift. The Ducati Riding Mode offers three different maps on the 959 Panigale
Corse –Race, Sport and Wet.
Anchoring tasks are performed by twin, 320 mm
semi-floating discs, radially mounted Brembo monobloc M4.32 4-piston callipers
at the front and a 245 mm disc, with 2-piston calliper at the rear. Bosch ABS
comes as standard. The 959 Panigale Corse tips the weighing scale at 197.5 kg
(kerb), which is 2.5 kg less than the standard 959 Panigale. The reduction in
weight comes through the use of lithium-ion battery and the titanium silencer.
All the ride related data is displayed on a
multifunctional LCD unit. The layout of the display is derived from the
experience gained by Ducati Corse in motorsport competitions. The new 959 Panigale Corse will be sold alongside
the standard model in the Indian market. The official announcement will come in
a few weeks when Ducati will announce the India prices of the new 959 Panigale
Corse.
