It’s no longer a secret that Ford won’t offer a
successor to the Fiesta in its home market, and we also knew the subcompact
would have one last hurrah in North America. Now it’s official: Ford will start
making a new, limited-production series for the 2019 model year called the
Fiesta ST Line.
As with ST Line-badged Ford models sold in Europe,
the 2019 Fiesta ST Line will look like an ST performance model without packing
the same punch under the hood. “The Fiesta ST Line was created for customers
who want the sportier look of the Fiesta ST but don’t necessarily need the
power or extra cost that comes with that vehicle,” Eggen elaborates.
On the outside, the 2019 Ford Fiesta ST Line gains
feature sporty fascias with honeycomb grille at the front and diffuser at the
rear, black painted roof and spoiler, as well as unique 16-inch black alloy
wheels. Besides these elements, other exterior tweaks include the black
skullcaps, body-color side rocker moldings, dual chrome exhaust tips, and ST
Line badging.
Inside, the Fiesta ST Line features charcoal black
seat bolsters with red stitching and ST Line logo, leather steering wheel with
red stitching, metal scuff plates, metallic pedal covers, and cloth floor mats
with red stitching. The engine is the regular Fiesta’s standard 1.6-liter
naturally aspirated engine rated at 120 hp and 152 Nm of torque,
mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. An automatic transmission will be
available as an option.
Prices will start at US$ 18,500 (including US$ 875
destination charge), and all the ST Line-specific content listed above will be
standard.
