Abarth has updated the European range of the hot 595 hatchback with
a new structure and other, smaller revisions. The tiny Italian hot hatch’s
range is now divided into five different models: 595, 595 Pista, 595 Turismo,
595 Competizione and the special 695 Rivale. Each one comes with a different
horsepower rating from the updated 1.4-liter T-Jet engine, which now complies
with the Euro 6D-Temp emissions rules.
This means that the
base 595 offers 145 PS while moving up the corporate ladder we find the
595 Pista, which packs 160 PS and comes fitted with the Record Monza
active exhaust as standard. The new 595 Pista also comes with more
performance-oriented goodies, such as Abarth Telemetry and a set of trick rear
Koni dampers.
Next to the focused
595 Pista, we find the more stylish 595 Turismo; Abarth says that the engine
here makes 165 PS, giving it a 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. The new
595 Turismo aims at customers who want more style out of their pocket rocket
and that’s why it comes with leather upholstery inside and an exclusive Asfalto
Grey matte livery, rear tinted windows and satin chrome trim and mirror caps.
The top of the
range is represented by the 595 Competizione, which delivers 180 PS and
is offered with an optional mechanical limited-slip differential. The
mechanical diff ensures that drivers can exploit the full potential of the
range-topping Abarth 595, giving them greater precision and driving efficiency. 0-100 km/h comes in 6.7 seconds while the chassis also features bigger
Brembo brakes.
Speaking of the
chassis of the 595 Competizione, it utilizes special Koni dampers front and
back, featuring Frequency Selective Damping. The cabin of the angriest 595 comes
the gorgeous-looking Abarth Corsa by Sabelt bucket seats as standard. Abarth
has also introduced a new vibrant color option for the new 595 Pista and
Competizione, called ‘Adrenalina Green’.
Finally, the range
is completed with the special 695 Rivale, which was designed together with
Italian yacht builder Riva. The 695 Rivale comes with an exclusive two-tone
Riva Evening Blue and Shark Grey paintwork, the 177 hp engine and a beautiful
interior that features mahogany on the dashboard and the finest leather.
