Hyundai has announced the pricing details of the
revised 2019 Elantra. The new Hyundai Elantra sedan goes on sale now, with prices kicking
off from US$ 17,985 (including an US$ 885 freight charge) for the base SE model with
the 147 hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and the six-speed manual. That’s just US$ 150 more than last year’s model.
The engine range also includes a turbocharged
1.4-liter unit with 128 hp, offered only in conjuction with a seven-speed
dual-clutch transmission in the Eco model, which is priced from US$ 21,835.
The third and final engine option is a turbocharged
1.6-liter, which will be available exclusively in the Sport model, paired to
either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Prices start
from US$ 23,285. Hyundai will reveal all the details of the Sport later in the
year, when it will make its official debut.
Changes include a new front end that is now much
more eye-catching, featuring triangular headlights, a new grille and bumper, as
well as redesigned fenders. The rear end gets new taillights, tailgate and
bumper.
The cabin has also received a range of updates,
including a new instrument cluster, redesigned air vents, new audio/climate switchgear
and a new center console. The AVN 5.0 infotainment system is also new,
featuring an eight-inch touchscreen display, a faster processor, Android Auto
and Apple CarPlay, as well as HERE HD Traffic.
All models from SEL trim and above will also feature
active safety systems such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep
Assist and Driver Attention Alert as standard.
