Fender is a company best known for its professional
guitars and amplifiers. Now, courtesy of Panasonic, it will enter the
automotive realm with premium sound system for the 2019 Nissan Titan. Said system is supposed to be so
good, it’ll come as close to a live performance as it gets. In order to do
that, it will rely on its 12 speakers (10 on King Cab models) and its 485 watt,
9-channel amplifier.
The new Fender audio system also incorporates
Panasonic’s own Acoustic Motion Control technology, which reduces vibration in
the individual speakers. Aside from the 485 watts of power and a maximum of 12 speakers, the
system also features front 1-inch soft dome tweeters in the A-pillars, front
2.5-inch SDR mid-range speakers in the top of the instrument panel, 6×9-inch
SDR high power woofers in the front doors, a 3-inch center channel speaker,
6.5-inch rear door woofer speakers, 1-inch soft dome tweeters in the rear doors
and an 8-inch SLDD subwoofer with a 10-liter enclosure.
According to Fender VP Dan Heitkemper, their product
“delivers uncompromising quality and clarity in every row – producing the
realistic ambience of a performance venue in the 2019 Nissan Titan, a perfect
blend for music and truck-lovers alike.”
Buyers will be able to spec the Fender premium sound
system on select trim levels of the 2019 Titan.
