Ram continues to target America’s farmers with the
Harvest Edition of its Chassis Cab trucks, which go on sale in the third
quarter of 2018. The 2019MY versions
will be available across the 3500, 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cab lineup, in Crew
Cab and Regular Cab configurations, priced from US$ 43,990, US$ 48,140 and US$ 49,240,
respectively, without the US$ 1,695 destination charge.
Optionally, clients can have them with the 6.4-liter
HEMI V8 or the 6.7-liter Cummings turbodiesel engine, with four-wheel drive. Said to be “loaded with
functional features that are designed to work”, the special edition trucks
feature chrome highlights in the grille, door handles, mirrors and side steps,
polished aluminum wheels, a transfer-case skid plate, front tow hooks, side
steps, fog lamps and a reversing camera. They’re finished in either Case Red or
New Holland Blue, to match other farm vehicles found in the shed, although they
can be had in Bright White or Brilliant Black as well.
While they may be designed to be operated in harsh
conditions, the 2019 Ram Chassis Cab Harvest Edition trucks don’t miss out on
the latest technologies inside. An 8.4-inch Uconnect 4C touchscreen
infotainment with radio, navigation, 4G Wi-Fi capability, Apple CarPlay and
Android Auto assists users, alongside smartphone map mirroring, Sirius Weather
and others.
The 7-inch reconfigurable cluster is also part of
the offering and allows drivers to monitor various systems, including engine
hours, filter life and operating temperatures. Other gear includes the
multi-function steering wheel that’s wrapped in leather, auto-dimming rearview
mirror and power-sliding rear window in the Crew Cab versions.
