Jeep India is now rolling out the Black Pack edition
of the Compass. The new version gets a handful of minor styling updates that
work together to help the SUV look a tad bolder. The Jeep Compass Black Pack is
based on the LIMITED (O) trim and costs Rs 15,000 higher, as communicated to
IndianAutosBlog.com by the company.
The latest development is in line with an earlier
report, which cited Kevin Flynn, managing director of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles
(FCA) India, as saying that the company plans to launch new variants of its
most affordable offering in the country. The new model is mechanically similar
to the regular trims. The Black Pack is a limited-run model that
should help the company attract more new car buyers during this year's festive
season.
The highlights of the new Jeep Compass Black Pack
edition include a set of 17-inch gloss-finished alloy wheels, all-black
interior colour theme, and black ORVM housings. The new model is available in
three colour options - Vocal white, Minimal Grey and Magnesio Grey colours.
The Jeep Compass is on sale in the country in two
engine variants - 1.4-litre Multiair turbocharged petrol and 2.0-litre Multijet
II turbocharged diesel. The petrol engine outputs a maximum power of 162 PS
along with a peak torque of 250 Nm. It is available in two transmission
variants - 6-speed manual and 7-speed DDCT dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The oil-burner produces a maximum power of 173 PS and a peak torque of 350 Nm.
It comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and offers an optional 4WD drivetrain.
