The Renault Zoe is one of the most popular electric
vehicles in Europe and Carscoops spy photographers have caught the redesigned model
undergoing testing for the first time. The
2020 Zoe has a familiar appearance as it features an evolutionary front fascia
with a prominent Renault badge that is flanked by new headlights and we can see a redesigned front bumper with a revised air intake.
The familiar styling continues further back as the
model has a long windscreen and an upward sweeping belt line. The rear end is
also pretty evolutionary, but the hatchback appears to adopt a more rakish rear
window.
The single interior photo doesn’t reveal much as
most of the dashboard is covered by a cloth sheet. However, the model appears
to have a larger instrument cluster with a metallic surround. We can also see a
leather-wrapped steering wheel with chrome accents on the control stalks.
Besides these minor changes, the model will likely
have a new dashboard and an updated infotainment system. The car could also
have new switch gear and higher quality materials.
Specifications remain unconfirmed, but the model
will reportedly feature a carryover powertrain sourced from the Zoe R110. That
model has a 41 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which powers an electric motor that
develops 107 hp and 225 Nm of torque. This enables
the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 11.4 seconds, hit a top
speed of 135 km/h and travel up to 1300 km on a single
charge.
