Inspired by that near-production
concept, IAB’s illustrator Shoeb Kalania has created a rendering of a Ford
Aspire Freestyle.
The Ford Ka Urban Warrior concept is based on the
Brazilian-spec Ka sedan, which measures 4,275 mm in length. The rendered Ford
Aspire Freestyle is based on the Indian-spec sub-4 metre version, which
received a facelift just earlier this month. At the front, it features a black
mesh grille with black surround, black front fog lamp ornamentation and a faux
silver skid plate.
The Ruby Red sedan’s adventure theme is highlighted
by its profile, thanks to the 14-inch four-double-spoke alloy wheels, black
decals, gloss black ORVMs and the black cladding on the underbody and wheel
arches. Inside, we imagine the active theme spread out with a two-tone black
& brown colour scheme.
The Ford Aspire Freestyle, if ever made, would offer
a higher ground clearance and an off-road-tuned, softer suspension. The engine
options would include the all-new 1.2-litre Ti-VCT three-cylinder petrol unit
from the Dragon engine family and the old 1.5-litre TDCi four-cylinder diesel
unit. The petrol engine produces 96 PS at 6,500 rpm and 120 Nm of torque at
4,250 rpm. The diesel engine develops 100 PS at 3,750 pm and 215 Nm of torque
at 1,750-3,000 rpm. Both come with only a 5-speed manual transmission in the
Blue Oval’s Indian line-up.
